Aftercare
How to Take Care of a new Tattoo

1. Initial Healing

(First 2-3 Days) Covering:

Keep your tattoo covered with a second skin or plastic wrap for up to 2-3 days to help the skin stabilize and prevent excess fluid loss.

With Second Skin: Leave the second skin in place for the full 2-3 days. Once removed, begin the cleaning routine below.

With Plastic Wrap: Remove the plastic wrap and wash the tattoo twice a day with cold water and mild, fragrance-free soap. Gently pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel. Reapply fresh plastic wrap after each wash until the 2-3 days are complete.

2. Continued Aftercare

(After 2-3 Days) Remove Covering:

After 2-3 days, you can remove the plastic wrap or second skin and do not need to cover the tattoo again.

Washing: Wash the tattoo gently with cold water and mild soap twice daily until it is fully healed. Moisturizing: Starting on the third day, apply a very thin layer of unscented, alcohol-free moisturizer to prevent dryness.

3. Things to Avoid During

Healing Direct Sunlight:

Avoid all sun exposure on the tattoo. Sunlight can damage the healing skin and fade the ink. When healed, always use high SPF if exposed to sunlight.

Avoid Hot Water: Use only cold or lukewarm water on your tattoo. Hot water can irritate the skin.

Exercise and Sweat: Avoid heavy exercise or sweating, as sweat can irritate the tattoo. T

Touching and Scratching: Don’t peel, scratch, or pick at the tattoo—even if it itches.

Water Submersion: No pools, saunas, or soaking the tattoo until it’s fully healed.

Pressure and Friction: Avoid sleeping directly on the tattooed area or allowing anything to rub against it.

I've carefully tailored these guidelines to suit my style, ensuring the delicate details and artistry of your tattoo remain vibrant and clear for years to come. Following these steps will help preserve the integrity of the work we've created together.
